Fulton County’s Only Certified Pet Crematory.
FAQ’s & Resources

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Can my pet be cremated with his/ her favorite toys?
A:  Absolutely and encouraged.

Q:  If my pet passes away in the middle of the night, what should I do?
A:  This happens quite often, and you should not panic.   You can let your pet stay in same area until morning. Please make sure your pet is moved inside the home or into the garage area if they are outside

Q:  How long before I will receive my pets ashes back from your facility?
A:  A Private Cremation you will receive ashes back within a 24 hour period.   We have same day service available for an additional fee.  An Individual Cremation would be returned within a 48 hour period.  If you have a custom urn ordered it may take up to 2-3 business days depending on the urn.

Q:   Do I have to use my Vets crematory provider?
A:  Absolutely NOT.  All veterinarians are obligated to use the crematory of your choice.  They do have contracts with many larger pet crematatories and some veterinarians make large profits from cremations, so they will push their own providers.  I would do your homework.  Also make sure your veterinarian understands the difference between a “True” private cremation and an individual cremation because they often do not.  If you would like to use Sacred Paws, you just need to tell them this information and we will pick your beloved pet up for you.

Q:  Is there a charge to pick up for a veterinarian office?
A:  If your veterinarian is located within 10 miles of our location, there is no charge for picking up your pet.   We will pick up your pet the same day he/she is euthanized (usually within the hour).  We will contact you immediately when we have your pet securely at our location.

Q:  Can I wait while my pet is cremated?
A:  A “TRUE” Private creamtion can take up to 4 hours depending on the size of your pet.  This includes the actual preperation of the body (i.e. paw impression, fur clipping, toys, etc), cremation, cooling down of cremains, placing cremains into urn.   If you want to stay, you can stay, however, there is a charge for this because we have other families to attend to.   If you do not want to stay, but want same day service, we can provide this also for an additional charge.   We also must have an appointment in advance and all appointments must be initiated prior to 9:00 am.  The fee for this service is $150 – $300 depending on the size of your pet.

Q:  Do you pick up from the home?  If so, what is the charge? What should I expect?
A:   We do pick up from the home and will give you a 2 hour window when we will arrive. Make sure your pet is downstairs and inside. If you have your pet laying on a blanket that would be best.   The people who pickup your pet are always Sacred Paws staff.  They are very courteous and respectful and will contact you within 30 minutes of arriving to your home.   They will have some paperwork for you to fill out and sign. We try and make this very easy on you because we know this is a horrible time.

When the time comes, we know this is one of the most difficult decisions to make. Sacred Paws ATL has worked with and would recommend the following resources to help you in your time of need.
